Modernist wave

In 2017, the Yale Architectural Gallery hosted the exhibition "Social Construction: Modern Architecture in Palestine under the British Mandate", which showed the influence of international modernism on the architectural jargon that developed in Palestine in 1917-1948.
In the 20th century, the flow of immigrants to Palestine was the catalyst for the emergence of a generation of architects who embraced modernism as a new beginning. The urban centers that emerged at this time formed a unique architectural language.
The exhibition featured more than sixty archival photographs of that time and about forty interpretive and analytical ink drawings on mylar made over the past twenty years.
